Hey everyone! If you have been following me on Instagram, @beautywithcal, you would have probably seen my Kylie Cosmetics THE ROYAL PEACH PALETTE haul ~~~~ woohoo!! I had to hit USD60 to enjoy free in’tl shipping, so I decided to grab the KYLINER in black and holy crap, I love it! I will be doing a separate review on it, so watch this space k! 🙂
Kylie has been releasing eyeshadow palettes pretty regularly, including the latest Valentine’s Collection (which is probably sold out by the time you read this hehe) But shortly before that release, she has launched THE ROYAL PEACH PALETTE, which looks different from her previous palettes.
I really like her choice of shades because each palette is very unique and up to trend (in case you don’t already know, it’s the peach trend right now…. ) P.S Will try and collect The Bronze Palette someday haha
As you can see, Kylie has constantly been improving her palettes, from w/o a mirror (The Burgundy Palette) to a mirror (Holiday 2016 Palette) and now, THE ROYAL PEACH PALETTE comes with mirror, brush (pretty good) and 12 shades! The previous 2 palettes have 9 shades and cost USD42, while The Royal Peach Palette costs USD45. I think USD3 isn’t that significant, especially since it now comes with a brush and mirror. Oh, but I kinda wished she named her eyeshadows beside each shade rather than just state it behind? What do you guys think? 🙂
In terms of the pigmentation, which is what most of us care about more, I feel that it is the best out of all 3 palettes. They are not as stiff and drying as the previous palettes. The pigmentation is really good too. I don’t have to use a lot for the shades to show up on my (fair asian) skin tone! Nonetheless, they aren’t the creamiest or softest eyeshadows. But it is not that bad till you need to find fault with that.
The blue shade has the worst pigmentation in this palette. It was chalky and patchy. If you are eyeing on the shade, you will be very disappointed with it. But for me, I didn’t care for that blue shade.
There is also a chemical scent. However, when you open the palette, you cannot really smell it unless you put it close to your nose. Honestly, you won’t be sniffing your products right…? It is definitely not a strong scent, unlike the TooFaced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette, where you can smell it the moment you open the palette. The scent also does not linger once you apply it on your eyes. If you really hate products that have a scent, then don’t buy it.
Overall, I think the shades are pretty nice and something different, especially since I am such a heavy burgundy trend type of girl… It is nice to use something different once in a while! I also find that this palette can be pretty suitable for an everyday kind of makeup look. Oh, and I love her new design! Super chic, I feel? ^^
One last thing to note is that if you are a super huge fan of ABH/MUG/Colourpop eyeshadows, you will be disappointed with this palette. But if you like to try new eyeshadows, or some days you prefer something less pigmented or love korean eyeshadows, you will find that The Royal Peach Palette is pretty alright! So, do set the right expectations before you purchase this ok? 🙂
Now, the question is, which to get? The Royal Peach Palette, The Burgundy Palette or The Bronze Palette (since the Holiday 2016 palette is no longer available)? Well, get The Royal Peach Palette I would say since this is the latest product, trend, and most value for money!
